Ontario Testing Online Homework Help
March 10th, 2010 by Kiwi Commons
In an effort to further help students with their mathematics homework, the Ministry of Education (MOE) has selected 15 school boards in Ontario to test out its new Homework Help! initiative. The initiative consists of a website where students can login and interactively work through their homework with a tutor.
All Grade 7 to Grade 10 students in those selected districts have already been given access to individual online Homework Help! accounts, and a notice was sent home to their parents.
Tutors are available on the site from Sunday to Thursday during the hours of 5:30pm to 9:30pm. However, students can log on at any time and participate in interactive tutorial games on popular math topics.
“The integration of technology into teaching and learning enables students to have access to a wide range of educational tools, courses and learning resources for increased student achievement,” according to a statement on the Durham District School Board website.
To access the site, visit www.durham.edu.on.ca –> Click “Parent Resources” –> and then click “Homework Help On-line.”

Kiwi would like to extend congratulations to staff of the Ministry of Education and the e-Learning initiative for taking on such an extensive but positive initiative.
